I was so excited to photograph Dana & Michael’s wedding after spending time with them. They are such a cute couple and are clearly head over heels for each other. Dana & Michael have been together for about 3 years now. They were set up on a blind date back in July of 2007 and hit it off from the first moment they saw each other!! Mike proposed to Dana on June 20th in 2009 at the Tabor Hill Winery in Michigan. They were tasting wine and Michael waited until right before dinner out on the balcony in the vineyard to propose. Such a romantic setting!! He pulled out the ring and for a second Dana though it was fake!! He asked her to marry him and she said “Are you serious?”. She realized she hadn’t said yes yet because she was crying uncontrollably and then finally said YES!!!
Their wedding day was so beautiful!! You could not have asked for a better day!! It was a gorgeous Spring day and we had so much fun photographing them at the beautiful & historic Danada House in Wheaton. We started off in the house where they first saw each other and then moved outside by the horses where one of them followed Dana everywhere she went. He smelled her flowers and would let her out of his sight. It was really cute!! The ceremony was held at Dana’s old school, The Benet Academy in Lisle. The academy has a nice chapel on the third floor and this was the very first weddding they have ever held there!!
After the ceremony we headed back to the Danada house for the cocktail hour and the reception! Everyone had such a great time and you could feel the love and joy throughout the entire day! Dana was one of the most excited brides I’ve ever worked with. If she was nervous at all she didn’t show it. Her excitement & joy over marrying Michael and becoming Mrs. Minger was very evident!!
